Sketch Recognition using Abstract 3D models

چکیده
We use Abstract 3D models for sketch recognition. The models should be abstract because sketches do not contain texture information which is present in the usual 3D models. Zernike moment descriptors are used for recognition. These descriptors do rotation invariant recognition and also provide the angle of rotation. Also the same concept can be extended to 3D viewpoint detection of the sketch.

Sketch-Based Modeling with the BlobTree (sketches 0292)
Sketch-based modeling provides an intuitive and expressive interface for 3D model creation. With the Teddy [Igarashi et al. 1999] system, complex free-form 3D models could be quickly produced using a gesture interface. However, the topological modeling operations implemented in Teddy were limited by the underlying shape representation (triangle meshes). Related systems based on variational impl...
متن کامل3D Models Recognition in Fourier Domain Using Compression of the Spherical Mesh up to the Models Surface
Representing 3D models in diverse fields have automatically paved the way of storing, indexing, classifying, and retrieving 3D objects. Classification and retrieval of 3D models demand that the 3D models represent in a way to capture the local and global shape specifications of the object. This requires establishing a 3D descriptor or signature that summarizes the pivotal shape properties of th...
متن کاملSketch-Based Recognition System for General Articulated Skeletal Figures
We present a new recognition system for detecting general articulated skeletal figures in sketch-based applications. We abstract drawing style from recognition by defining figures using two data models: templates and figure targets. Our system recognizes general skeletal figures consisting of lines and ellipses which may be drawn partially off the canvas with the system automatically completing...
متن کاملSketch input of 3D models - current directions
In the last few years, there has been considerable interest in sketch input of 3D solid models. This paper summarises recent developments and discusses the directions these developments are taking. We consider three developments in particular: the move away from line labelling as a technique in recognition of the problem posed by extended vertices; the increasing use of symmetry detection as a ...
متن کاملNapkin Sketch
This paper describes, Napkin Sketch, a novel 3D sketching interface which attempts to mimic the qualities of conventional sketching medium and tools both in terms of physical properties and interaction experience. A portable tablet PC is used as the sketching platform, and mixed reality techniques are employed to allow 3D sketches to be created on top of a physical napkin. Intuitive manipulatio...
